Cheetah Behind Bars

A chimpanzee dreams
His movie-star days long gone
Cheetah behind bars

One of the original Cheetah's from the 1930s Tarzan flicks with Johnny Weismuller is still alive and well (I guess) at the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in Palm Harbor, Florida. While I do believe he is well cared for and that the sanctuary does do noble work, I still feel sorry for the dude. He looked so lonely. I guess you can accuse me of anthropomorphosizing him, but I think chimps do share a lot of our emotions. Maybe on a more primitive level, but they still feel and socialize.

If you would like to donate to the sanctuary to help pay for Cheetah's care, please visit http://www.suncoastprimate.org/cheetahbio.html.
