You ruined our plans
Death . . . you're so inconvenient
Why must you call now?
Nobody's dead - that I know of. It's just the whole concept of death and dying. It ruins so many things, doesn't it? I guess, conversely, death make us appreciate so many things, too - not take things for granted, that is. If we never died, then so many things we count as precious now maybe wouldn't mean as much.

Why Is It So Surprising?
We know we will die.
Why is it so surprising
When the time arrives?
I'm not dying . . . just thinking about some people in my life who are ill and facing the end of their lives. It may not be surprising to them, but it is to me. But, it shouldn't be. But, it is all the same.

Reflections on a Dead Squirrel
Little and lifeless . . .
Discarded and meaningless . . .
An abandoned corpse.

Don't Forget the Milk
"Don't forget the milk!"
She cried to him as he left:
The last words they shared.
